Job Opportunity: Health and Social Care Teacher

SMART EDUCATION is seeking an experienced Health and Social Care Teacher to join a reputable secondary school in Sandwell, near West Bromwich. This position offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on students’ education and future career paths while working in a supportive, innovative teaching environment.

This Health and Social Care teaching role will start on a temporary basis (3 months) with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.

Responsibilities of the Health and Social Care Teacher

As a full-time teacher, you will be expected to integrate seamlessly into the school community and carry out duties equivalent to a permanent staff member. This includes:

  • Teaching Health and Social Care at A-Level.
  • Planning, delivering, and assessing lessons in line with the curriculum.
  • Tracking and reporting on student progress.
  • Participating in departmental meetings, parents’ evenings, and progress reviews.
  • Upholding the school’s behaviour policies and values.
Requirements
  • Minimum 12 months of teaching experience in Health and Social Care within a school or university setting.
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) is preferred, but QTLS (Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills) will also be considered.
  • A passion for student success and the ability to inspire confidence and engagement in learning.
Key Details
  • Location: Sandwell, near West Bromwich.
  • Salary: £165.12 – £215.89 per day.
  • Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday, 8 am – 4 pm). Part-time opportunities may also be available.
  • Start Date: January 2025.
  • Interview Dates: Immediate, including lesson observations.
