A supportive Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Wokingham is seeking a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team, helping children with additional needs reach their potential. The students at this school present a range of needs, including Autism, ADHD, speech and communication challenges, sensory impairments, and physical disabilities. This role would suit a graduate who is patient, compassionate, and adaptable.
In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience working directly with neurodivergent students and implementing tailored support plans. You'll work alongside a team of professionals, including on-site psychologists and therapists, providing you with valuable insights and practical skills in the field of educational psychology.
About the Role
As an LSA, you'll support small groups of students, assisting them with academic work, emotional development, and fostering a positive learning environment. You'll encourage engagement and help students stay on task to reach their goals. Some personal care, such as assisting with toileting or feeding, may be required.
