There is no doubt about it - this company is one of the most exciting insurers in the market right now.
As a result of strategic growth, our client is seeking a talented Underwriter to join its highly successful Professional Liability Team.
This insurer operates in over 20 countries, and is very much renowned as a world-leader within its chosen markets. The company arranges insurance for some of the most fascinating risks on the planet, and has a reputation for excellence, innovation and formidable customer service.
Not only does the company provide crucial financial protection to a diverse range of customers, it also provides its employees with some of the most attractive career development opportunities in the market.
Many people who join this company cite, "this is the best place I have ever worked at". It is genuinely difficult to find a company that invests so heavily in its staff because they want them to benefit from "proper careers, where every member of staff has a mentor."
Working within the renewals team of the specialist Financial Lines Division, you’ll be dealing with a wide variety of Professional and Management cases, and wider financial lines risks, including Cyber and Technology insurance. This is an area of considerable growth for the company and a great opportunity to join an established but growing team. This team is often an integral part of projects developing the book and improving the way they do business.
Specific duties will include, but not be limited to, underwriting large and complex renewal cases, collaborating with the Claims Team, as well as developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with the Technical Department and the wider business. You’ll provide excellent service to brokers, prioritising renewals and mid-term adjustments to ensure deadlines are met. Being a growing business that very much listens to, and implements employees’ great ideas and suggestions, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in some really interesting ad hoc projects and make a real difference.
It is essential that you have experience within the Financial Lines underwriting arena (whether this is Professional Indemnity, D&O or associated products). Just as importantly, you’ll be well-organised, with strong communication skills, and you’ll be committed to your ongoing self-development.
"I really want to stress that this is NOT a 'dead-end’ underwriting role", says the Director. "We are extremely passionate about developing our staff, and this role has the genuine potential to progress into a number of different areas, such General Management, Technical, Compliance, Sales and more." When Aston Charles visited the office recently, it was difficult to find someone who hadn’t recently had, or was soon about to have, a promotion!
Our client operates a hybrid-working arrangement, allowing you to work 2 days from home. Whilst you are in the office, the team are well-renowned in the industry for their friendly, supportive and collaborative environment, and there are lots of sports and social events available, including an incredible annual summer ball!
You’ll be rewarded with a generous basic salary (Negotiable depending on experience), plus a highly lucrative 25% bonus scheme and impressive corporate benefits, which include substantial pension contributions and financial bonuses for passing CII qualifications.
