We are collaborating with a Plymouth secondary school that is seeking to hire a committed and experienced SEN teaching assistant to start in September 2024. You need to have prior experience working with students who have special needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist students in accessing the curriculum and engaging fully in classroom activities by offering support while working under the guidance and supervision of the teaching staff.
Take part in the design and assessment of educational activities alongside the instructor, giving them input on the students development.
Help the instructor maintain discipline and focus among the students by supporting their unique goals.
Under the close supervision of a teacher, provide assistance to students exhibiting problematic behaviour while taking support plans and risk assessments into consideration.
A successful candidate must provide the following:
Must have an enhanced child and adult DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply for one.
Must provide 2 professional references.
Eligibility to work in the UK.
Patient and Reliable.
Experience working with people with SEN / Disabilities
Be confident supporting children and young people
Work as a Care / Support worker is preferred.
