Dairy UK is looking for a motivated and flexible individual to join a small and friendly team to provide support to our members in a number of key areas.

The primary responsibilities of the Industry Schemes Manager are to administer two assurance schemes on behalf of Dairy UK and its members. DTAS (the Dairy Transport Assurance Scheme (DTAS) and the Assured Integrated Milk Supplier (AIMS) Scheme). These provide assurance to the dairy sector that the milk purchased by our dairy processing members is transported in a safe and hygienic manner and all milk traded between the members of the AIMS scheme meets the required standard to provide an assured milk supply pool.

Job Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Processing reports from the Annual Audits of the scheme members, issuing certificates and maintaining the membership databases and website for each scheme.
  • Organising quarterly meetings (both online and in-person) for the scheme Management Committees, presenting scheme statistics, compiling the minutes and ensuring that the action points are progressed.
  • Undertaking all aspects of the organisation and running of scheme conferences, including presentation of update and key statistics, coordination of speakers and providing technical support on the day.
  • Coordination of an annual review and updates of key scheme documents

Additionally, the job involves production of regular reports which entails:

  • Updates and analysis on milk production both nationally and internationally
  • Collection of monthly cheese stock data from Dairy UK members
  • Reports to support the meetings of the International Dairy Federation (IDF) and European Dairy Association (EDA)

A further key role is the provision of data to:

  • Support the Policy & Sustainability Director in submissions to Government (to support the interests and competitiveness of our members).
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests from members and trade press by extracting trade data from the HMRC database, key statistics from Defra and AHDB and international figures from European databases.

Essential requirements:

  • 2-5 years’ experience of managing schemes or large scale initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • A proactive approach and the confidence to take ownership of tasks.
  • The ability to understand and communicate complex subjects.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a small team.
  • The right to live and work in the UK without the need for company support.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the food and drink, FMCG or agricultural sectors.
  • Experience of website management and content packages such as Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, Mailchimp and WordPress.
