Escape the ordinary. Help run a school that’s doing things differently.

Liberty Woodland School is a pioneering, progressive school where education meets the outdoors, and where children are empowered to thrive as confident, independent, and curious learners.

We are now looking for a School Office & HR Manager to join our leadership support team and take the reins of our busy school office. If you're looking to use your organisational superpowers in a purposeful environment that puts people and planet first—this might be the move you’ve been looking for.

The Opportunity

This isn’t your average office manager role. You’ll be the engine room of a truly unique school, working closely with the Head of School and Senior Leadership Team to ensure everything behind the scenes runs smoothly—from daily admin and diary management to recruitment, HR, and safeguarding compliance.

This role will suit someone who:

  • Thrives in a fast-paced, people-focused environment

  • Loves variety and is always three steps ahead

  • Has a genuine interest in education, wellbeing, and values-driven work

  • Is highly organised, warm, and unflappable

What You'll Be Doing

Office & Operations

  • Run the day-to-day admin and logistics for the school, including managing diaries, meetings, calendars, and school events

  • Support internal communications and act as the key liaison between staff, parents, governors and external providers

  • Manage pupil attendance, records and data systems, and ensure GDPR and safeguarding compliance

  • Book trips, events, CPD days, and coordinate school transport logistics

  • Be the first point of contact for visitors—bringing warmth, clarity, and professionalism to every interaction

HR & Recruitment

  • Lead the end-to-end recruitment process, from advertising to onboarding

  • Manage staff HR records, contracts, absences, DBS checks and training compliance

  • Work closely with the Head of School to support the wellbeing and development of our team

  • Keep HR processes clear, compliant, and human—ensuring everyone feels supported and valued

Leadership & Culture

  • Collaborate with senior leaders to build a joyful, efficient and well-organised school culture

  • Uphold our ethos of kindness, innovation and excellence in everything you do

  • Take initiative, bring ideas, and help shape the systems that make our school community thrive

Who You Are

You might have experience in a school setting—or maybe not. You might be working in HR, recruitment, admin, operations, or something else entirely. What matters most is that you:

  • Are highly organised, reliable and proactive

  • Have strong admin and HR experience, and are confident with IT systems

  • Are an excellent communicator, both in writing and face-to-face

  • Bring a calm, friendly presence to busy environments

  • Are excited by the idea of working in a progressive, outdoor-first school

  • Are values-driven, discreet, and ready to roll up your sleeves

Why Join Us?

At Liberty Woodland School, we’re not just changing education—we’re rethinking what childhood can be. This role offers:

  • A chance to work somewhere meaningful, with a purpose-led team

  • A supportive and collaborative culture, where people matter

  • A front-row seat in an innovative, growing school with big ambitions

  • Professional development opportunities and the freedom to make real impact

  • A warm welcome into a community where children (and adults) are seen, heard and respected
