Position: DevOps Engineer
Reports to: DevOps Team Lead
Hours: 40 hours and occasional overtime - flexible working
Hybrid working: 2-3 days in North London office
Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 + eligibility for performance bonus

Job Purpose:
DevOps Engineer is responsible for end-to-end release engineering process for various environments including development, test and production, ensuring products can be effortlessly delivered to target environments using different distribution mechanisms and methods.

Main Responsibilities:
- Automate and enhance the end-to-end release process, ensuring smooth and error-free software deployments.
- Monitor and troubleshoot release processes, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines using modern DevOps tools.
- Collaborate closely with Development, QA, Database, and Operations teams to coordinate build schedules and optimize release cycles.
- Implement and manage monitoring tools to ensure application health, performance, and uptime.
Required skills:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Platform Engineering roles.
- Strong proficiency in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitLabCI for automating build, test, and deployment processes.
- Experience with source code management tools (GitHub, GitLab) and branching strategies.
- Proficiency with Linux operating systems, shell scripting, and Python.
- Experience executing DDL and DML scripts in PostgreSQL and Oracle database systems.
- Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch for logging and monitoring.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Nagios, and PRTG.
- Hands-on experience with Docker for containerizing applications and managing microservices-based environments.
- Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes is preferred.
- Experience with GitOpsworkflows and tools, including Flux and ArgoCD, for automated and declarative deployments is preferred.
