Our client is a well-established and fast-growing market-leading digital media company.  This newly created position is a remote working role with occasional in-office presence in London as required. The position offers an excellent base salary, bonus and benefits package.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Sales Director will lead the direct sales team across the UK. You will be responsible for driving rapid revenue growth across the company’s direct channel, encompassing both B2B and non-specialist agency revenue streams.

You will have responsibility for the design and execution of direct commercial strategy, organisational processes and culture and behaviour with a focus on accelerating revenue in line with ambitious expectations.

As a key member of the Leadership Team, you will collaborate closely with our client, retail, development, HR, finance and other commercial teams to ensure alignment and integration of our direct sales strategy across the business.

You will be an experienced and ambitious commercial leader who shares our client's excitement to continue building the business into a market leading digital media company.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and execute a long-term vision, sales strategies, and organisational design to meet company objectives and achieve ambitious growth targets
  • Analyse market trends and competitor activity to adapt strategies and maintain a competitive edge
  • Set clear goals and benchmarks for performance evaluation
  • Lead, motivate and manage the Direct sales team to ensure they are aligned with strategic sales plans
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance skills and drive performance
  • Foster a culture of success and accountability within the department
  • Oversee the preparation of sales forecasts and budgets, ensuring they set realistic yet ambitious targets that align with our strategic objectives
  • Monitor sales team performance against strategic goals, and make data-driven adjustments to optimise outcomes
  • Report to SLT on sales progress and contribute to the decision-making process with accurate data and insightful analysis
  • Develop key customer relationships and identify new market opportunities to expand the business
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty to foster repeat business and positive referrals
  • Collaborate with the wider SLT to ensure direct supports the wider commercial and company strategy

Your experience will include:

  • Outstanding personal sales experience and proven track record of delivering revenue results both as an individual and leading a team
  • Proven track record of rapidly scaling a direct sales team’s revenue performance
  • Proven track record of creating and beating ambitious sales targets
  • Proven track record of building and delivering a winning sales strategy
  • Proven track record of leading large successful remote teams
  • Proven track record of driving change and building a winning team culture
  • Strong senior B2B and agency contacts
  • Outstanding communication, organisational and presentation skills
  • Excellent knowledge of multiple media channels including OOH
  • Proven ability to drive sales behaviours and deliver results through effective CRM utilisation
  • In-depth understanding and experience of using technology to enhance direct sales performance

The successful candidate must have considerable senior B2B sales leadership experience gained ideally within SaaS, AdTech, or related Retail Media sectors and be an experienced and ambitious commercial leader.
