As
Legal and Contracts Manager, the successful candidate will provide expert legal advice and guidance, particularly focusing on contracting and governance. They will work alongside the Governance team to mitigate legal risks, ensure compliance, and develop robust systems to strengthen the charity's operations. The role will require close collaboration with various teams across the charity, offering support in areas such as procurement, contract negotiations, and regulatory compliance.
The
Legal and Contracts Manager will:
- Provide legal advice on contracting, procurement, and risk management.
- Draft and negotiate contracts when required.
- Advise on compliance, brand protection, and dispute resolution.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to manage legal risks and improve governance processes.
- Maintain a contracts register and support legal compliance programmes.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a solicitor or barrister (or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of governance, risk management, and contract law in the charity sector.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Desirable:
- Experience with regulatory compliance in the charity / NPO sector.
- Collaborative and proactive approach to problem-solving.
