Stress Engineer (Hybrid)
Cheltenham (Hybrid: 3 days from home, 2 days in office)

Shape the Future of Military Landing Gear Design
Are you ready to make your mark in the aerospace and defence industry? We are on the hunt for a Stress Engineer to join our client's dynamic military team. In this pivotal role, you'll apply your expertise in structural analysis to ensure the strength, durability, and safety of military landing gear systems. If you excel in classical stress analysis techniques and have a knack for solving complex engineering challenges, this is the opportunity for you.

Why Join Us?
*Work on cutting-edge military projects shaping the future of aerospace innovation.
*Flexible hybrid working model-enjoy the best of both worlds with 3 days from home and 2 days in our Cheltenham office.
*A focus on hands-on engineering-this role prioritizes classical analysis, so no extensive Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience is required.

Key Responsibilities:
*Perform classical static stress analysis on landing gear components and assemblies, ensuring they meet stringent military safety and design standards.
*Conduct fatigue and durability assessments, evaluating the lifespan of landing gear under real-world operational loads.
*Provide critical structural validation support to design and engineering teams, enabling robust and reliable landing gear designs.
*Collaborate across teams to enhance designs, addressing structural integrity and performance.
*Deliver detailed stress reports, calculations, and technical documentation to meet project objectives.
*Uphold military and regulatory standards to guarantee the safety, reliability, and performance of landing gear systems.

What We're Looking For:
*Proven experience with classical stress analysis methods, focusing on static and fatigue loading for aerospace or military systems.
*Deep understanding of material properties, failure modes, and structural behavior in landing gear applications.
*Confidence tackling technical challenges without relying on advanced FEA tools.
*Familiarity with military or aerospace standards for landing gear design is a strong advantage.
*Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:
*Hands-on experience with landing gear projects in the military or defence sector.
*Expertise in fatigue analysis and lifecycle assessment methodologies.
*Knowledge of regulatory requirements for military-grade landing gear systems.

Why This Role?
*Work on mission-critical projects that directly support military operations.
*Develop and refine your expertise in classical stress engineering, with opportunities to make a tangible impact on aerospace design.
*Enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid working arrangement with a location steeped in aerospace history-Cheltenham.

This is a 12-month contract role, perfect for engineers looking to contribute their expertise to exciting and high-impact aerospace projects.

If you're passionate about stress engineering, motivated by technical challenges, and eager to contribute to groundbreaking aerospace advancements, we want to hear from you.
