The Role

We manage over £9 billion of purpose-built student accommodation with plans to grow further. The Investment Finance Business Partner plays a key role in the valuation of our c.150 assets, appraisal of acquisition and disposal opportunities and our asset performance model to support delivery of our strategy. You`ll work closely with the Investment and FP&A teams in a broad and varied role within the Investment Finance team. The key valuation analysis and transaction support will give you exposure to the most senior leaders in the business.

What You`ll Be Doing

  • Co-ordinate and deliver quarterly valuations of the investment portfolio providing information to external valuers, analysing movement drivers and providing summary outputs to allow for executive level approval
  • Forecast and budget investment valuations, with consideration to asset and fund level performance and alignment to wider business activity
  • Engage with the Commercial team to ensure alignment of sales and valuation information and to interrogate the valuation impact of the annual sales proposition
  • Provide support on divestment activity including financial performance data, support preparation of marketing material and financial due diligence execution
  • Deliver analysis, data modelling and financial review to support investment business cases and inform acquisition decisions and valuations
  • Communicate and collaborate with other members of the Finance team to ensure all commercial aspects of any investment, divestment or valuation activity are considered and addressed
  • Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the asset performance model which tracks the historic and forecast performance of our portfolio and informs our capital allocation decisions
  • Proactively develop and maintain relationships with the Investment team, other business stakeholders and external valuers

What We`re Looking for in You

  • Strong analytical background e.g. a qualified or near qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with experience gained within a commercial environment
  • Excellent communication skills including inspiring trust and influencing; communicating technical financial information in a clear and commercial manner; adapting style and content for different audiences
  • Evidence of working in a fast paced, high change environment and able to manage multiple demands effectively whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy, quality and attention to detail
  • Advanced Excel proficiency
  • Proactive team player with a willingness to learn about the wider business
  • Curiosity and personal drive to be better
  • The role is based in our Bristol head office. We work best when together and expect to average at least three days a week in the office
