About the Role


CMS' Energy & Infrastructure M&A team is one of the highest profile and experienced teams in the legal sector. We have advised on complex, high-value, cross-border and innovative transactions relating to power, renewables and infrastructure for 35 years. We are routinely engaged by leading names in the energy and infrastructure sectors to advise on market shaping transactions and our team of corporate lawyers specialise in advising clients on acquisitions, disposals, equity investments, joint ventures and reorganisations from lower value strategic matters to multi billion pound transactions.
While you would work within our Energy & Infrastructure M&A team, our team members also work with other teams in our Corporate Group specialising in areas such as private equity, funds, technology, equity capital markets, public M&A, corporate wrapped real estate, financial services, consumer products, life sciences, healthcare and media.
CMS international focus means that you will have the opportunity to be involved in cross border work as well as exposure to leading UK headquartered companies and investors early on in your career.
You will be responsible for a variety of work including;

- providing efficient professional advice and support to colleagues, principally in London but also across all of our other offices
- developing client relationships
- supporting the firm in developing its business and raising the profile of the firm
- involvement in marketing events and other BD activities
- managing and supervising the work of others including trainees and solicitor apprentices

About you

We will invest in your ongoing training and development to support your professional goals and help you to thrive in your role from day one.

You will be a team player with excellent drafting skills and the ability to translate legal analysis into practical advice. Due to the role being client facing you will need to have sound judgement and good interpersonal and business advisory skills. To meet the needs of the role, you will have an appropriate level of post qualification experience. Ideally, we are looking for a minimum PQE of two years and a maximum of four years. The ability to communicate clearly and succinctly with clients is a must.
