A lovely primary school in Islington are seeking a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to support three children across the school on a 1 to 1 basis.
The Role
In this SEN Teaching Assistant role you will be supporting three pupils with identified Special Educational Needs. You will be based in the EYFS department in the morning and year 5 in the afternoon.
In EYFS you will be supporting two children both have speech and language and communication needs. One is visually impaired and has a medical condition which requires daily medication. You will administer this but it is a simple process and you will be provided with training and guidance. The other pupil has SEMH needs so can present as dysregulated and show a range behavioural needs. This child will need to have support to regulate their emotions and interact with other children.
In the afternoons you will be supporting a child in year 5. The child has autism and speech and language needs, a very young mental age and can show defiance. The child has a lot of previous trauma and requires support to manage emotions.
