Job description:

As a Residential Childcare Worker, your role is to assist the home’s management team in achieving the aims and objectives of the Statement of Purpose and uphold the organisation’s mission statement and values. To support and assist in the delivery of dynamic care, to meet the changing needs of the children and young people, and to support in the completing of day to day tasks and delivery of practice across the home.

You will undertake direct work with the children and young people as appropriate, taking an active role in reviewing case files, updating plans and supporting professional reviewing meetings, advocating support for the child where necessary. The children and young people that we care for can demonstrate a wide range of challenging behaviours and can be very demanding of time, attention and emotions. The focus of every staff member is to work actively to meet the needs of the children and young people in our care; achieved through a dynamic and active team.

The residential care worker role is to provide quality care for children and young people in line with governing legislation and regulations. When on shift you will have initial responsibilities for monitoring and supervision of staff and take responsibility for the daily support, and guidance of colleagues whilst ensuring the welfare and care of the young people.

You will work in partnership with other professionals to achieve optimum outcomes for young people. Offer supervision and support to the Care Team in line with Quality Standards & Regulations and as directed by the Home Manager. Promote a PACE approach across the home, and role model best practice throughout the shifts.

Shifts: Shift pattern is based on Two on Two off. ( Please note you will be required to work for the full 48 hours 10-10 over the two day shift) .

Requirements:

  • Driving Licence - Essential
  • Level 3 - Health and social care required or working towards - Essential
  • 2 Years experience working in Children's Residential - Essential

Benefits:

  • £50 Sleep in rate.
  • Additional payments made for any overtime worked.
