Job description:

We have a newly created opportunity for a Payroll & Benefits Apprentice to join our Payroll team. In this role, you’ll be supporting the team with payroll calculations, administration, inputting and the preparation of reports.

We’ll support you with in-house training as well as providing structured study support for a CIPP (Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals) recognised qualification.

Your role will also include responsibility for:

• Coordinating payroll processes and inductions for new starters
• Processing new starter and leaver data in the payroll system
• Updating the system with any changes to employee terms and conditions
• Calculating holiday entitlements
• Acting as the first point of contact for any payroll queries
• Inputting payroll including annual leave, deductions and additional payments
• Running monthly reports and sharing with necessary departments
• Maintaining the benefits system
• Supporting the promotion of company benefits across the business

What you’ll need to succeed:

• GCSE Maths and English grade C/4 (or equivalent)
• Confident typing and using MS Office programmes
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
