We are seeking a HR Officer with a focus on employee relations to join the HR & Training team at Greater London Authority. The successful candidate will be responsible for advising on a range of ER cases, including probation, disciplinary, capability, resolution, and sickness absence, and will support line managers in line with relevant ER policies.
- Job Type: Contract (5 months with possibility of further extensions)
- Location: City Hall, walking distance from Canning Town and Royal Victoria - hybrid work, 3 days’ work from home
- Pay rate - £21.63 per hour PAYE or £27.48 per hour Umbrella (salary equivalent range £41k per annum)
Day to day of the role:
- Provide advice on the application of HR Policy, including disciplinary, resolution, sickness absence, and other employment issues.
- Attend meetings, take minutes, and maintain records as required.
- Manage the ER casework inbox, responding to queries and work alongside the ER Casework Advisor.
- Support managers with Occupational Health referrals and review sickness absence data.
- Monitor the end of fixed-term contract processes and workplace adjustment activity.
- Maintain trackers for ER casework and workplace adjustments.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in ER casework, ideally within a similar role.
- Strong understanding of HR policies and procedures related to ER.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Proficient in using HR systems and maintaining accurate records.
