Purpose of the Role

Cleaning operatives are responsible to ensure that the centre , car park and offices are clean and clear of all rubbish, that litter and spillages are removed and that all surfaces are visibly clean. Cleaning operatives must ensure that they are familiar with and adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures on site.

Key Responsibilities

To carry out all allocated cleaning tasks as per the sites cleaning specification ensuring that:

  • Refuse is collected from waste bins and not allowed to overflow.
  • Remove all food and liquid spillages as soon as they are reported or found.
  • Clean all internal, external and public areas within the centre and car park.
  • Remove black and all other marks from walls.
  • Remove dust and debris from mats and carpets by vacuum cleaner and machine washing as necessary.
  • Remove dust from all surfaces in reach.
  • Machine scrub floors in stairwells.
  • Machine scrub external floor areas as necessary.
  • Jet wash external areas as necessary.
  • Be aware of and use the appropriate equipment for the specific cleaning task.
  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks required by the line manager.
  • Public / office and staff toilets kept clean and stocked daily

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Candidates will be required to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in the provision of cleaning services in a busy environment visited by members of the public and staff.
  • Able to demonstrate a good level of customer service.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and deal with demanding situations.
  • Honest and reliable work ethic.
  • Well presented.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to work in both internal and external environments.
  • Willingness to partake in further onsite training.
  • Flexible working approach to work patterns.

Desirable

Basic knowledge of H&S legislation and body fluid trained.

Working Hours - 40 hours per week Monday to Sunday based on a Four on Four Off Rota (Day shifts)

Salary - £12.00 per hour
