Job Overview:
Our client, an Oxfordshire based international manufacturing business, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Finance Business Partner on a 12 month fixed term contract to support a high-value capital expenditure (CapEx) project. This role is critical to ensuring the financial success of the project by providing financial insights, strategic guidance, and robust analysis to drive effective decision-making and project delivery. The successful candidate will collaborate with project teams, senior leadership, and key stakeholders to ensure optimal financial management throughout the project lifecycle. This role will require working form their office for a minimum 4 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Leadership: Provide financial leadership for the high-value CapEx project, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy and objectives.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop, manage, and monitor the project’s budget, ensuring that all financial commitments are met. Provide accurate and timely financial forecasts throughout the project.
- Financial Modeling & Analysis: Perform detailed financial analysis, including cash flow modelling, ROI, NPV, and IRR analysis to support investment decisions and project evaluation.
- Cost Control & Risk Management: Monitor actual expenditures against budget, analyse variances, and work with project teams to implement corrective actions where necessary. Identify financial risks and opportunities within the project and proactively propose solutions.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the main point of contact for all financial matters related to the project. Provide regular, clear, and concise financial updates to key stakeholders, including the executive team, project managers, and department heads.
- Decision Support: Advise senior management on financial performance and key business decisions, ensuring that financial considerations are incorporated into all project decisions.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure compliance with financial policies, accounting standards, and legal regulations. Ensure that proper financial controls and governance processes are followed throughout the project.
- Capital Investment Strategy: Collaborate with the finance team to support capital investment planning, ensuring that financial evaluations are robust and align with the strategic goals of the company.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish and track financial performance indicators for the project, providing regular reports and insights into the financial health of the project.
- Process Improvement: Identify and drive continuous improvements in financial processes and reporting mechanisms, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of project delivery.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Fully Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA)
- Experience:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a financial management role, with at least 5 years focused on large CapEx projects or similar complex, high-value initiatives.
- Proven track record of providing strategic financial advice in large-scale capital expenditure or investment projects.
- Strong experience in financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting within a project-driven environment.
- Solid understanding of project lifecycle management, financial risk management, and the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for senior leadership.
- Skills:
- Advanced Excel, financial modelling, and analytical skills.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting systems and ERP software.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards, and governance procedures.
