Do you have the skills and passion to transform the lives of children and families? We are seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join a committed team working towards making a lasting impact on children’s welfare and development.

The Role
As a Social Worker, you will:

  • Collaborate with families, respecting their rights and working in partnership to identify strengths and support their needs.
  • Conduct assessments to determine the level of risk and develop SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) plans to ensure children’s welfare and reduce risks.
  • Facilitate multi-agency meetings and child protection investigations when necessary, ensuring children’s voices are central to planning.
  • Work with legal services, family courts, and other agencies to manage legal proceedings and care planning for children when staying with their families is not possible.
  • Prioritise children’s health, development, education, and training needs, preparing them for independence.
  • Maintain accurate records, case files, and reports in line with organisational standards.
  • Provide high-quality, relationship-based social work services to children and families in need of safeguarding.

About You
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
  • A professional qualification in social work (e.g., CQSW, DipSW) and registration or eligibility for registration with the relevant professional body.
  • Substantial experience in working with children and young people, ideally in a statutory setting.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of child care law, statutory guidance, and safeguarding practices (e.g., Working Together 2018).
  • A strong ability to assess, plan, and manage cases, using motivational interviewing techniques to engage families.
  • Excellent communication and partnership-working skills, with the ability to handle challenging situations effectively.
  • IT literacy and the ability to manage data effectively.
  • A valid DBS clearance and willingness to travel as required.
