Myn is excited to be recruiting for our long-term client in the South East of England. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Residential Support Worker to join a compassionate team supporting vulnerable children to feel safe, cared for, and empowered to thrive.

Purpose of the Role

  • As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing direct care to children.
  • You will encourage them to engage in meaningful activities, support their learning of English, and help them attend important appointments.
  • This role is all about ensuring children are happy, safe, and ready to move on to a more permanent home.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day care for children in line with policies and Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
  • Work closely with the Children’s Home Manager and other professionals to deliver stimulating activities and learning opportunities.
  • Support children during appointments and transport them as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records for each child using internal systems.
  • Assist with daily tasks, such as meal preparation and laundry, to ensure the smooth running of the home.
  • Complete incident reports and escalate concerns regarding safety or behaviour when required.
  • Participate in handovers, meetings, and child-in-care reviews.
  • Support equality, children’s rights, and anti-discriminatory practices at all times.
  • Work as part of a team on a shift rota system, including evenings and weekends.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
  • GCSE-level education or equivalent, or NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People.
  • A valid UK driving licence.
  • Experience working in a children’s residential care setting.
  • A proven ability to meet Ofsted regulations and deliver excellent children’s services.
Skills and Personal Qualities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both children and professionals.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Confidence with IT tools, including Microsoft Word and Outlook.
