Summary of the role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated professional to join our team, providing a comprehensive and efficient service to policyholders and their families. This role involves offering high-quality counselling and telephone support, guiding families through issues such as health challenges, disability, ageing, and bereavement, while liaising with care providers and ensuring access to services. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting individuals and families with care packages, community care assessments, and other essential services, ensuring a high standard of support is delivered.

What you'll be doing
- Deliver high-quality counselling services with empathy for health issues, disability, frailty, ageing, death, and bereavement
- Regularly update assessment skills and knowledge of available support options, including through home visits when appropriate
- Offer information on local services
- Liaise with care providers to ensure the best care and support
- Maintain a customer-focused, positive, and mature approach, adapting to changing demands and priorities
- Ensure service delivery aligns with individual policy conditions
- Provide information on community care assessments, hospital discharges, voluntary and charitable organisations, and state benefits
- Support families with care packages and liaise with them throughout the process
What we're looking for
- Experience as an Occupational Therapist, Nurse, Social Worker, or Social Care Worker with a minimum of 2 years' experience of working in the community with elderly clients
- Passionate about delivery of customer service
- Demonstrates essential interpersonal skills i.e. listening to others, observing and questioning where appropriate
- Ability to work in a team/team player, liaising with other Claim Assessors, Underwriters and Claim Administrators within the team
- Cope with varying workloads and lone working
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to study further as required
