Registered Manager - Children’s Residential Home
We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and motivated Registered Manager to lead a residential children’s home. You will ensure the safety, wellbeing, and development of children in our care, manage the home effectively, and maintain regulatory compliance. You’ll lead a dedicated team, collaborate with stakeholders, and create a nurturing environment that fosters growth and learning.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
- Lead and supervise staff, ensuring professionalism and accountability.
- Oversee daily operations, recruitment, induction, and staff development.
- Conduct meetings, supervisions, and appraisals to support team growth.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted standards.
- Prepare for inspections and address recommendations promptly.
- Maintain accurate records, follow policies, and conduct risk assessments.
Child-Centered Care:
- Deliver high-quality, individualized care tailored to children’s needs.
- Develop care plans, promote positive behaviour, and foster emotional growth.
- Work with social workers, therapists, and educators to ensure comprehensive support.
Safeguarding & Health & Safety:
- Ensure adherence to safeguarding policies and child protection procedures.
- Maintain a safe, secure environment and oversee health and safety checks.
- Manage incidents and emergencies to prioritize children’s welfare.
Financial Management:
- Operate within budget, manage resources effectively, and maintain records.
- Prepare financial reports and ensure cost-efficiency.
Partnership & Communication:
- Build relationships with external agencies, families, and professionals.
- Maintain open communication with families about children’s progress.
- Promote the home’s positive reputation within the community.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Experience as a manager in residential childcare.
- Knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, and safeguarding.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable:
- Experience with children with complex needs.
- Knowledge of therapeutic or trauma-informed care practices.
- First aid or mental health first aid training.

Working Conditions:
