Great opportunity for experience facilities maintenance professionals at one of our hotel, Renaissance Hotel London Heathrow.
As a Chief Engineer you will motivate, manage and oversee the entire engineering/maintenance operation, including maintaining the building, the grounds, all utilities and equipment including the physical plant with particular attention towards safety, security and asset protection. Specific consideration and focus on guest the entire Hotel Health and Safety is a crucial part of this role.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To retain the hotel and its fabric in excellent condition at all times, ensuring that all facilities, plant areas, operations and amenities are in full working order.
- To design and implement planned preventative maintenance programmes to include the servicing of all plant equipment. Systematic checking of all hotel areas, services, systems, fixtures and fittings as specified in the building maintenance manual.
- To provide competent 'hands on’ skills to ensure all hotel services, systems, fixtures and fittings are maintained in perfect working condition and to ensure all defects are corrected promptly. To resolve any defects requiring any further materials or skills and to communicate with the Hotel Manager on any legislative requirements.
- To ensure all statutory testing of plant equipment, kitchen equipment, moving equipment and machinery is carried out at the specified intervals and is recorded.
- To carry out quality checks on both the planned and reactive maintenance work carried out by the Maintenance Engineers.
- To liaise and communicate effectively with all contract labour ensuring Contractors have been signed in, service visits are recorded and that satisfactory standards of work are achieved. Relevant staff / managers are aware that contractors are on site. Ensure all service visits are recorded and the permit to work process/system is in place and operational.
- To maintain satisfactory levels of materials and spares to allow immediate rectification of faults and ongoing provision for the Planned Preventative Maintenance programmes. To report any shortfalls in advance to the Hotel Manager.
Skills & Experience
- Previous Hotel Maintenance Management experience essential
- Proven capability to lead a team
- Experience of 4/5 * quality and standards
- Recognised electrical or engineering qualification
- Been in charge of a green initiative for a large hotel
- Pre-opening experience and the ability to work in an entrepreneurial fast paced environment is highly desirable.
