The Role
As Senior Harbour Operative, you’ll manage daily operations, lead a team of Harbour Operatives, and ensure a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for visitors and residents. This full-time role includes working five shifts per week, covering weekdays, weekends, and nights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety, security, and operational efficiency of the site at all times.
- Manage the Harbour Operative team, providing induction, training, and ongoing coaching.
- Oversee maintenance programs in collaboration with the Works & Maintenance Supervisor.
- Implement and uphold health & safety standards, working closely with our H&S consultant.
- Support the Deputy General Manager in maintaining compliance.
- Manage the site’s ANPR car park and collaborate on events and animations programs to enhance visitor experiences.
- Oversee the safe operation of the Harbour vessel and assist with vessel berthing, loading, and launching as needed.
- Conduct regular inspections of the site to identify and address safety or maintenance issues.
- Ensure a 24/7 security operation that adjusts seamlessly to varying levels of activity.
- Collaborate with the Experience Manager and other teams to deliver successful events and maintain exceptional site standards.
- Assist with implementing new systems and procedures to improve operational and visitor experiences.
We’re looking for a proactive leader with: - Experience in operational management, ideally in a public or visitor-facing role.
- Strong health & safety awareness and compliance expertise.
- Team leadership skills and practical problem-solving abilities.
- Flexibility to work across varied shift patterns, including nights and weekends.
Salary up to £32K + Benefits
