Warehouse Operative

Are you an experienced Warehouse Operative? Do you drive and have access to your own vehicle? Are you based in or around Llanwern?

TATA Steel are looking for a reliable, proactive individual within their Heavy Gauge department. This role requires manual handling and experience within a heavy industry environment. The successful applicant will be someone who is fully flexible to the shift rotation and is eager to learn new skills.

Location: TATA Steel, Llanwern Works, Newport NP19 4QZ

Rate: £11.66ph basic. 25% shift allowance £14.58ph.

Overtime also available at 1.5 (£17.49ph) and 2.0 (£23.32ph)

Contract length: 6 months initially

Shift Patterns: 37.5 hours, alternating weeks: Week one X4 12 hour shifts and Week two X3 12 hour shifts

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring material dispatched as per clients request
• Loading and receiving goods on an inbound and outbound basis
• Adhering to Health and Safety at all times
• General housekeeping including but not limited to stock takes, quality checks, reporting damages
• Operating machinery as part of the role (training provided)

Essential requirements:

• DRIVING LICENCE AND ACCESS TO OWN VEHICLE
• Previous experience within a Warehouse or Production environment
• Ability to work as a team-player
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Good knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation
• Able to conduct manual handling duties including bending, lifting bulky items and being on foot for long periods
