Audit & Accounts Manager

Our client, a respected Top 20 firm based in South London, is seeking an Audit & Accounts Manager to deliver exceptional client service while fostering professional growth within the team. This role offers a diverse range of responsibilities, exposure to high-profile clients, and opportunities to influence the development of the firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Portfolio Management: Oversee a portfolio worth £500k-£750k, serving as the main point of contact for clients and managing multiple assignments to agreed deadlines.
  • Audit & Accounts Work: Allocate approximately 60% of your time to audit engagements, 30% to accounts preparation, and 10% to advisory work. Deliver statutory audits, group consolidations, and compliance services while addressing client queries.
  • Leadership & Development: Supervise and mentor junior staff, provide training, and deliver constructive feedback to enhance their technical and professional skills.
  • Client Advisory: Offer proactive advice, including coordinating with specialist teams to deliver tailored solutions across tax, payroll, HR, and restructuring.
  • Practice Development: Participate in business development initiatives, build relationships with current clients, and contribute to new client pitches.
  • Operational Oversight: Ensure compliance deadlines are met, manage work in progress, agree on fees, and oversee billing and collections.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Qualifications & Expertise: ACA or ACCA qualified (or international equivalent), with extensive knowledge of auditing standards, UK GAAP, and UK Corporation Tax compliance.
  • Client-Centric Approach: Strong commitment to delivering outstanding client care with clear, actionable communication.
  • Team Leadership: Proven experience mentoring and developing junior staff, with a collaborative and motivational approach.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines, and manage projects effectively within budget.
  • Technical Competence: Advanced Excel and Word skills, with a proactive commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Personal Attributes: Enthusiastic, adaptable, detail-oriented, and skilled at building trust and rapport with clients and colleagues alike.
