Salary: 15-17 per hour
We are looking for a committed, reliable, and motivated individual to join a team, working 2:1 to provide support for a young man (aged 17 years) with learning and physical disabilities as the result of a serious road traffic accident as a young child. He lives with his family; the family home incorporates an annexe for the clients use including a hydrotherapy pool. He is wheelchair dependent and uses non-verbal methods to communicate with others. He requires full assistance for his personal care and others to maintain his safety and wellbeing. He loves/enjoy cartoons, swimming and watching TV/using his iPad.
He attends college during term time and you will work alongside his family and professionals to provide high quality care, and promote his independence, well-being and quality of life.
Full training, both online and practical, and support is given but previous care experience is essential.
You will be required to complete daily notes, light household duties and to work with and feedback to therapists.
Full driving licence is essential.
Hours of Work
Shifts available are 12 hr shifts 9.30am – 8.00pm both in college then at home or 6 hr shifts 3.30pm – 9.30pm.
Full time role of 30 – 36 hours per week including every other weekend or to share hours between to people for 18 – 24 hours per week working one weekend per month.
Hours of work can be slightly different/longer in college holidays.
Rates of Pay
£15 per hour weekdays
£17 per hour weekends
Due to the nature of the role an enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service is required.
