Geography and Religious Education Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Geography and Religious Education Teacher to join a diverse and vibrant secondary school in Tower Hamlets to cover a maternity leave, January 2025 - July 2025. The successful candidate will inspire students through engaging lessons that foster a deep understanding of the world around them, both from a geographical and a spiritual perspective. About the Role

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in Geography and Religious Education, in line with the National Curriculum.
• Foster an inclusive classroom environment that supports students of all abilities and backgrounds, promoting academic excellence and spiritual development.
• Encourage students to think critically about geographical issues such as climate change, sustainability, and human geography, while also exploring key religious beliefs, practices, and ethical discussions.
• Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their learning journey.
• Contribute to the wider school community through participation in extra-curricular activities and departmental initiatives.

Key Requirements

• A qualified teacher with QTS (or equivalent) and a strong subject knowledge in both Geography and Religious Education.
• Experience teaching at secondary level, with the ability to teach both subjects across Key Stages 3 and 4 (experience with Key Stage 5 is desirable but not essential).
• A passion for both subjects, with a commitment to delivering creative and engaging lessons that inspire students.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community.
