A lovely school in Reading is looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their team of staff. The role is to start as soon as possible or perhaps at the beginning of the new academic year in September.

This is a wonderful opportunity for those individuals who are looking for hands on experience in a classroom.

Your role as a teaching assistant will be primarily involved with supporting the classroom and class teacher. Your duties will vary but you will mostly be responsible for helping the class teacher prepare lesson materials, listen to students read, help with their phonics, maths or literacy lessons. You will also help manage general classroom behaviour as well as supervise and assist with outdoor lessons such as PE.

You will ultimately have a great opportunity to shadow the class teacher and get a real feel for what it means to be a teacher. A great opportunity to get advice from other individuals who have already been there!

As a teaching assistant, you will be positive and have a great ability to engage and facilitate fun learning environments to help make students learning concrete. You will be proactive and know how to take initiative. You will also be committed, and stay on for the full academic year. The successful candidate will also be passionate about education and excited to help students reach their full potential.

The successful candidate will be presented with the opportunity to do teacher training at the end of a full academic year.

You must hold an enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to apply for one. If you do not have a DBS, don't worry - we can support your application.
