Management Accountant

Atkinson Moss are working on behalf of a large respected local employer in their search for a Management Accountant reporting directly into the Finance Manager.

The purpose of this role is to oversee the preparation of divisional/group month end processes and continue the centralisation of month end reporting. The role is also responsible for monitoring, preserving and reporting on the Companies pricing and costing information.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring divisional and group month end results are prepared in an accurate and timely manner.
• Preparation of month end results, including prepayments and accruals.
• Ensuring timely preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and assisting in clearing reconciling items.
• Supervision of team members and delegation of responsibilities to support team development.
• Drive the centralisation of divisional month-end reporting.
• Proactively seeking process improvements in the month end reporting process and other areas of responsibility.
• Perform other duties and tasks, as required.

Person Specifications:

• ACCA/CIMA qualified
• A strong individual with good communication skills, both written and verbal Numerate
• Intermediate in Excel
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, up to date standards and good practices.
• Experience of working in a dynamic team environment
• Experience of dealing with financial transactions
• Methodical & well organized
• An eye for detail and demonstrable lateral thinking
• A keen attitude to progressing and development.
• A team player with a flexible and positive approach
