A welcoming and specialist community secondary school is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis as soon as possible. This vacancy has arisen due to a valued team member relocating to the South West. The school is a specialist local authority provision, supporting 65 students aged 11-16 with SEN, learning disabilities and additional needs.

The role involves working in small classes of up to 8 students, supporting the class teacher with daily activities and providing 1:1 and small group assistance to SEN learners.

Creative, friendly and resilient individual who is committed to supporting learners on a 1:1, small group and whole class basis
Teaching Assistant or Health and social care qualification (desirable not essential)
Experience working or volunteering with children or young adults (desirable)
Must have: GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
Eligibility to work in the UK
Responsibilities:
Supporting young people with complex needs from age 11+ years in a education setting
Working and supporting children on a 1:1, small group and whole class basis
Supporting not just the educational but also the physical and spiritual well being of the pupils
