About the role

We're actively recruiting for a Production Planner at our Featherstone site. The focus of this role is to deliver a world-class service in a fast-paced environment to delight our customers and grow our business. The production function is key to the success and continued improvement of our site operations.

In this role, you will be responsible for planning and scheduling, using your knowledge and expertise to prepare and co-ordinate the production schedule, ensuring orders are planned to meet both site efficiency targets and customer delivery dates. You will be expected to maximize the efficiency of the manufacturing plant whilst meeting all customer delivery requirements. You will be expected to monitor the loading of the production plan and highlight areas of concern for potential slippage of the confirmed delivery dates.

Key Responsibilities include (but not limited)

  • To be accountable for own health and safety whilst at work, operating in line with company procedures to enable a safe working environment.

  • Produce plans for digital printer, corrugator and conversion to maximise machine efficiencies and meet tight customer deadlines using the CBS business system.

  • Pre plan compilation & order selection.

  • Periodic monitoring and review of plan(s) progress via CBS SFDC.

  • Amend /update existing plan(s) as required in response to changes in operational situation or capability.

  • Manage paper stocks, plan and order material replenishment on a daily basis.

  • Month end paper receipt/usage reconciliation.

  • Review paper usage variance to plan and generate necessary corrective actions.

  • Liaise with the Internal Sales Team to determine daily customer order requirements to maintain customer needs within the framework of operational capability.

  • Daily sales/planning meeting and ad hoc basis.

  • Attend daily operations review to participate with and support any initiatives and actions intended to continuously improve operational effectiveness. Where appropriate contribute with specific KPIs.

  • Attend daily transport meeting. Provide information regarding order status to enable a review of planned deliveries.

About you?

  • Experience of working within a manufacturing environment

  • Previous experience of Time Management, planning and coordinating

  • Able to make decisions in a time pressured environment

  • Demonstrable experience of performing to a high level in a fast-paced customer focused environment

  • Strong commercial awareness of the financial impact of decisions

  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

  • Strong communication and influencing skills.

  • Methodological approach.

  • High Attention to detail.

Location: Featherstone - On site

Hours: 2 weeks on, 1 week off (Week 1 - Mon - Fri :13:00 - 23:00 / Week 2 - Monday - Sunday 06:00 - 14:00pm / Week 3 - Off)
