Head of QHSE & Compliance - Transport Division

A fantastic opportunity for a Head of QHSE & Compliance to support the Group QHSE & S Director in ensuring the Transport QHSE Team is efficiently and effectively managed and standards are met and maintained to a high degree. The Head of QHSE & Compliance will be dedicated to promoting, developing and establishing a positive and compliant safety culture within the Transport Division’s cleaning contracts, ensuring all parties meet, with the aim to exceed, the required Quality, Health, Safety and Compliance regulations.
As Head of QHSE & Complianceyou’ll be:
- Accountable for ensuring that the cleaning contracts deliver their activities safely, following the outlined legislative and industry regulations, standards and processes.
- Working closely with the respective Heads of QHSE, Quality and Environment to ensure the Transport Division is fully aligned and compliant with Churchill’s ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 integrated management system.
- Ensure the Transport Division maintains its RISQS accreditations and is aligned with RSSB initiatives where relevant.
- Responsible for the internal monitoring and auditing of all Health, Safety and Compliance and assurance obligations within the contract, providing associated reports monthly to the Group QHSE & S Director, Managing Director and Ops/Account Director.
- Lead in creating and maintaining a climate in which individuals understand safety has a high value and that they are clear about responsibilities, safety aims and objectives.
- Develop and maintain training strategies in line with train company requirements.
As Head of QHSE & Compliance you’ll have:
- Strong understanding of Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental regulations
- Strong understanding of ORR and ROGS
- Experience of Rail Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme (RISQS)
- Experience of and Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB)
- H&S Level 6 Qualification, Nebosh Diploma/Nebosh certificate and currently enrolled Dip/NVQ6.
- Member of IOSH or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience managing the Health and Safety of large FTE volumes in a rail environment.
- Competent in management systems such as ISO14001, 9001 or 45001 and work with certification bodies.
- Excellent written and oral English communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience of dealing with different types of situations assertively.
- Strong leadership skills.
Desirable qualifications/experience:
- AET Level 3 (PTTLS)
- PTS qualification
- Auditor Qualification/ experience
